The grant, along with money raised from the Chapter, will repair a large terracotta urn in the Renaissance Majolica style located at Meadow Brook Hall. This is the fourth Quester grant Stoney Creek #203 has received to assist Meadow Brook Hall in various restoration projects. Questers International awarded 35 grants this year totaling over $109,000 for Preservation and Restoration projects at historic properties throughout the United States. Stoney Creek #203 was one of two Michigan Questers Chapters to receive a grant.
The Questers is an international nonprofit organization which encourages an appreciation for antiques and supports the preservation and restoration of historic landmarks.
Stoney Creek #203 was formed April 1965 and is the oldest of five Rochester area Quester chapters. They currently have 18 members, many of whom have been members for 20 to 25 years. For most of those 50 years, they have been sharing their love of antiques with the Rochester community by placing items from their members’ collections in a display case at the Rochester Hills Public Library each month.
