Arizona’s four peaks #1207
Recently, the Four Peaks Chapter raised funds for eight panels that tell the story of the Merci Train. This two-year project, led by member and treasurer Betsy Stambaugh, required extensive research to compile the information for the panels. Prior to the Merci Train project, the chapter raised funds to restore the last remaining tuberculosis cabin in Arizona. "It was slated for demolition, and we couldn't let that happen to such an important part of history," states Nell.
To support various projects, the Four Peaks Chapter devotes one meeting each year to a lunch box auction. Each member packs a lunch in an antique, vintage or unique container, and members then bid on them. Members eagerly anticipate this event, which not only raises funds for historical projects but also encourages members to showcase their creativity.
