2024 Founder’s Award Papers

This year’s Founder’s Award topic was “The Legends of California.” 2nd Vice President Jennie Lyons presented the following awards:

*    1st place—Karen Brichford, Sand Hill #79 (MI), “Unexpected Legends of California”
*    2nd place—Laurie Schrecengost, Kit-Han-Ne #408 (PA), “Majestic Trees of the
                           Western  Forest”
*    3rd place—Natalie M Macy, Como #81 (PA), “Mount Shasta’s Secrets and Tall Tales”

Honorable mention—Carol Tinkey, Chautauqua Circuit #889 (IA), “A California Legend: Mount Shasta.”

Honorable mention—Valerie Davis, John S Rockwell #71 (WI), “Elizabeth Tibbitts and Her Navel Orange”
